Hero Allari Naresh's rustic action entertainer Bachhala Malli is directed by Subbu Mangadevi, known for Solo Brathuke So Better. Amritha Aiyer stars as the heroine. After blockbuster movies like Samajavaragamana and Ooru Peru Bhairavakona, the film is produced by Rajesh Danda and Balaji Gutta under the Hasya Movies banner. The teaser and songs released earlier have received a tremendous response. The movie is set to release on December 20th as a Christmas special. On this occasion, hero Allari Naresh shared details about the movie in a press meet.
బచ్చల మల్లి కథలో మిమ్మల్ని ఎట్రాక్ట్ చేసిన ఎలిమెంట్స్ ఏమిటి?
-డైరెక్టర్ సుబ్బు గారు ఈ కథ చెప్పినప్పుడు సింగల్ సిట్టింగ్ లోనే ఓకే అయింది. కథ అంత అద్భుతంగా ఉంది. ఇప్పటివరకు నేను చేసిన సినిమాల్లో చాలా వేరియేషన్స్ ఉన్న క్యారెక్టర్ ఇది. ఇందులో హాస్యరసం తప్పా అన్ని వేరియేషన్స్ వున్నాయి. నాంది తర్వాత డిఫరెంట్ సినిమాలని చేద్దామనుకున్నాను. అలా మంచి కంటెంట్ సినిమాల కోసం చూస్తున్న టైం లో ఈ సినిమా వచ్చింది. నిర్మాత రాజేష్ గారికి కూడా చాలా నచ్చింది. ఆయన చాలా ఎమోషనల్ గా కనెక్ట్ అయ్యారు. అలా ఈ ప్రాజెక్టు మొదలైంది.
What attracted you to the story of Bachhala Malli?
-When director Subbu narrated this story, I agreed to it in a single sitting. The story was that amazing. This is a character with many variations, unlike any I’ve done before. It has everything except humor. After Naandhi, I wanted to do different kinds of films, and this project came along at the right time. Producer Rajesh also loved it and connected emotionally with it. That’s how this project began.
బచ్చల మల్లి క్యారెక్టర్ ఇంపాక్ట్ ఎలా వుంటుంది?
-గమ్యంలో గాలి శీను ఎలా గుర్తుండిపోయాడో బచ్చల మల్లి కూడా ఓ పదేళ్ళ పాటు గుర్తుండిపోతాడు. క్యారెక్టర్ ఇంపాక్ట్ అలా ఉంటుంది. నా కంఫర్ట్ జోన్ నుంచి బయటకు వచ్చి కొత్తగా ట్రై చేశాను.
What is the impact of the Bachhala Malli character?
-Just as Gali Seenu from Gamyam remains memorable, Bachhala Malli will also stay with audiences for a decade. The character has that kind of impact. I stepped out of my comfort zone to try something new.
-ఇది ఆటో బయోగ్రఫీ కాదు. డైరెక్టర్ సుబ్బు గారి ఊర్లో బచ్చల మల్లి అనే ఒక క్యారెక్టర్ ఉంది. ఆయన ఊర్లో గొడవలను కూడా తన గొడవలుగా ఫీల్ అయ్యే మనిషి. ఆయన జీవితంలోని మూడు ఇన్సిడెంట్ తీసుకొని కంప్లీట్ గా ఒక డిఫరెంట్ సబ్జెక్టు చెప్పడం జరిగింది.
-This is not an autobiography. In director Subbu's village, there was a character called Bachhala Malli. He was someone who considered the village’s problems as his own. Subbu took three incidents from his life and turned them into a unique story.
-బచ్చల మల్లి చాలా ఇంపాక్ట్ ఫుల్ క్యారెక్టర్. ప్రతి మనిషిలోనూ బచ్చలమల్లి లాంటి క్యారెక్టర్ ఉంటుంది. మనకు తెలియకుండానే జీవితంలో కొన్ని నిర్ణయాలు మూర్ఖత్వంతో తీసుకుంటాం. అందరూ రిలేట్ చేసుకునే క్యారెక్టర్ ఇది. ఇందులో తెలియకుండానే ఒక మంచి మెసేజ్ కూడా ఉంది.
-Bachhala Malli is a very impactful character. Every person has a character like Bachhala Malli within them. Sometimes, we make decisions in life with foolishness without realizing it. This is a character everyone can relate to. It also carries a good message without being overtly preachy.
ఈ సినిమాలో మీకు మోస్ట్ చాలెంజింగ్ పార్ట్ ఏంటి?
-మా డైరెక్టర్ గారు నడకలో కూడా ఒక మూర్ఖత్వం చూపించాలి అని అడిగారు. కాస్త కొత్తగా ఏడవండి అని చెప్పేవారు( నవ్వుతూ). ప్రతిదీ కొత్తగా చేయాలనే ఉద్దేశంతో చాలా జాగ్రత్తలు తీసుకున్నారు. నా గత సినిమాల బాడీ లాంగ్వేజ్ ఎక్కడ కూడా కనిపించకూడదని చాలా జాగ్రత్తగా పడ్డారు. ఈ సినిమా చూసిన ఐదు నిమిషాల తర్వాత అల్లరి నరేష్ ని మర్చిపోయి బచ్చల మల్లినే చూస్తారు.
What was the most challenging part for you in this film?
-Our director asked me to show a sense of foolishness even in the way I walk. He would also suggest that I cry in a new way (laughs). He took great care in ensuring everything was done differently. He was very particular about not letting my previous body language appear anywhere. After watching this film for just five minutes, you will forget Allari Naresh and only see Bachhala Malli.
లుక్ విషయంలో ఎలాంటి జాగ్రత్తలు తీసుకున్నారు?
-ఈ కథ 90లో జరుగుతుంది. బచ్చల మల్లి చాలా రెస్టిక్ క్యారెక్టర్. తను ట్రాక్టర్ నడుపుతుంటాడు. తన బాడీ గురించి ఎక్కువ కేర్ తీసుకునే పర్సన్ కాదు. అలాంటి లుక్ ని తీసుకురావడం కోసం హెయిర్ కి కాస్త రెడ్డిష్ కలర్ ట్రై చేశాం.
What precautions did you take with your look?
-This story takes place in the 90s. Bachhala Malli is a very rustic character. He drives a tractor and is not someone who takes care of his body. To bring out that look, we tried a reddish tint for my hair.
క్యారెక్టర్ డ్రివెన్ సినిమాల్లో క్యారెక్టర్ కనెక్ట్ అయితేనే సినిమా కనెక్ట్ అవుతారు మరి ఈ విషయంలో ఎలాంటి కేర్ తీసుకున్నారు?
-ఈ కథని చాలా నిజాయితీగా చెప్పాం. ఇందులో ప్రతి ఎలిమెంట్ ని చాలా నేచురల్ గా చూపించాం. ఒక ఫైట్ సీన్ జరుగుతున్నప్పుడు రియల్ గా కొట్టుకున్నట్లుగానే ఉంటుంది. సినిమాని చాలా రియలిస్టిక్ గా ప్రజెంట్ చేశాం.
In character-driven films, the movie connects only when the audience connects with the character. What care did you take with this aspect?
-We’ve told this story very honestly. Every element of it is shown in a very natural way. Even during a fight sequence, it looks as if the punches are real. We’ve presented the film in a very realistic manner.
ఇందులో హీరో కి మూర్ఖత్వం ఎక్కువ ఉంటుంది కదా.. మరి దీనికి సంబంధించిన బ్యాక్ స్టోరీ ఏమైనా ఉంటుందా?
-వుంది. ఫాదర్ అండ్ సన్, మదర్ అండ్ సన్ ఎమోషన్ ఉంటుంది. నన్ను వద్దనుకుంటే నాకు ఎవరు వద్దు అనుకునే క్యారెక్టర్. ఒక క్యారెక్టర్ తో డిస్కనెక్ట్ అయితే ఇంకా చాప్టర్ ని క్లోజ్ చేసే క్యారెక్టర్. ఇందులో యాక్షన్ కథకి తగ్గట్టుగానే ఉంటుంది.
The hero is shown with a lot of foolishness in this movie, right? Does the character have a backstory?
-Yes, there is. It has father-son and mother-son emotions. The character thinks that if his family doesn’t want him, no one else will. It is a character that closes chapters when disconnected. The action in the film complements the storyline perfectly.
ఇందులో లవ్ స్టోరీ కి ఎలాంటి ప్రాధాన్యత ఉంటుంది?
-బచ్చల మల్లి జీవితంలోకి కావేరి అనే అమ్మాయి ఎంటర్ అయిన తర్వాత ఆ అమ్మాయి కోసం మారుతాడు. ఆ మారే క్రమంలో తను చేసిన పాత తప్పులన్నీ ఎదురవుతుంటాయి. ఫైనల్ గా తన ఏ వైపు టర్న్ తీసుకున్నాడు అనేది ఇంట్రెస్టింగ్ గా ఉంటుంది. అమృత అయ్యర్ చాలా షటిల్ గా పెర్ఫార్మ్ చేసింది. తన క్యారెక్టర్ కి మంచి పేరొస్తుంది. ఇందులో రావు రమేష్, అచ్యుత్ కుమార్, వైవాహర్ష, హరితేజ, రోహిణి గారు .. అన్నీ క్యారెక్టర్స్ కథలో చాలా కీలకంగా ఉంటాయి.
How significant is the love story in this film?
-After a girl named Kaveri enters Bachhala Malli’s life, he changes for her. In the process, he has to face the consequences of his past mistakes. His final turn is interesting to watch. Amritha Aiyer has performed excellently and her character will be appreciated. In this film, Rao Ramesh, Achyuth Kumar, Viva Harsha, Hariteja, and Rohini play characters that are crucial to the story.

-ఈ సినిమాలో ప్రీ క్లైమాక్స్ చాలా అద్భుతంగా ఉంటుంది. అది బెస్ట్ పార్ట్ ఆఫ్ ది ఫిలిం.
What are the standout episodes of the film?
-The pre-climax of the movie is absolutely stunning. It is the best part of the film.
విశాల్ చంద్రశేఖర్ మ్యూజిక్ గురించి?
-విశాల్ చంద్రశేఖర్ మ్యూజిక్ నాకు చాలా ఇష్టం. రీసెంట్ టైంలో సీతారామం పాటలన్నీ సూపర్ హిట్. అవన్నీ నాకు చాలా నచ్చాయి. ఇందులో నాలుగు సాంగ్స్ ఉన్నాయి. చాలా టైం తీసుకుని చాలా బ్యూటిఫుల్ గా ఆ పాటల్ని చేయడం జరిగింది. పాటలకు చాలా ప్రాముఖ్యత ఉంటుంది. బ్యాగ్రౌండ్ స్కోర్ ని చాలా అద్భుతంగా చేశారు. ఆడియన్స్ కి ఒక మంచి ఎక్స్పీరియెన్స్ ఉంటుంది.
Vishal Chandrashekhar's music?
-I really like Vishal Chandrashekhar’s music. Recently, the songs from Sita Ramam were a super hit, and I loved all of them. In this film, there are four songs, and a lot of time was spent making them beautifully. The songs are very significant, and the background score is done excellently. It will provide the audience with a great experience.
-ఈ సినిమా స్క్రీన్ ప్లే బ్యాక్ అండ్ ఫోర్త్ గా ఉంటుంది. 90, 2005 ఇలా రెండు టైమ్ లైన్స్ ఉంటాయి. సింపుల్ స్టోరీ చాలా సిన్సియర్ గా చెప్పాను. ఇందులో ఫాదర్ అండ్ సన్ ఎమోషన్ చాలా బాగుంటుంది. విశాల్ చంద్రశేఖర్ గారు తన మ్యూజిక్తో ఎమోషన్ ని స్క్రీన్ పైకి చాలా అద్భుతంగా ట్రాన్సలేట్ చేశారు.
-The screenplay of this movie moves back and forth. It has two timelines, one in the 90s and the other in 2005. I’ve told a simple story in a very sincere way. The father-son emotions are very touching. Vishal Chandrashekhar has beautifully translated the emotions onto the screen with his music.
-ఈ సినిమా మొదలుపెట్టినప్పుడే టెక్నీషియన్స్ విషయంలో ఎక్కడా కాంప్రమైజ్ కాకూడదని డిసైడ్ చేసుకున్నాం. రిచార్డ్ ఎం నాథన్ డిఓపిగా చేశారు. విజువల్స్ చాలా రిఫ్రిషింగ్ ఫీలింగ్ ఇస్తాయి.
-From the very beginning, we decided not to compromise on technicians. Richard M. Nathan worked as the DOP, and his visuals give a refreshing feel.
మీ నుంచి కామెడీ సినిమాలు తగ్గుతున్నాయి కదా?
-కామెడీ నా స్ట్రెంత్.ఇండస్ట్రీలో ఇంత లాంగ్ కెరీర్ ఉందంటే దానికి కారణం కామెడీనే. అది నా హోమ్ గ్రౌండ్. కామెడీని వదలను. మధ్యమధ్యలో బ్యాలెన్స్ చేయడానికి ఇలాంటి సీరియస్ కంటెంట్ ఫిలిమ్స్ చేస్తాను. డిఫరెంట్ సినిమాలని చేయాలనేదే నా ప్రయత్నం.
Comedy movies seem to be decreasing from you, right?
-Comedy is my strength. The reason I’ve had such a long career in the industry is because of comedy. It’s my home ground. I’ll never leave comedy. In between, I balance it out by doing serious content films. My attempt is to do different kinds of movies.
నిర్మాత రాజేష్ గారు, రామ్ చరణ్ గారికి రంగస్థలం ఎలానో మీకు బచ్చలమల్లి అలాంటి సినిమా అవుతుందని చెప్పారు.. మీకు ఎలా అనిపిస్తుంది?
-ప్రతి నిర్మాత వాళ్ళ హీరో సినిమా అద్భుతంగా ఉండాలని కోరుకుంటారు. ఆయన కోరుకున్నట్లు జరిగితే చాలా ఆనందం. రంగస్థలంలో సగం జరిగిన మాకు చాలు. (నవ్వుతూ)
Producer Rajesh and Ram Charan said that Rangasthalam is similar to Bachhala Malli… how does that make you feel?
-Every producer hopes for their hero's film to be a big hit. I’ll be very happy if it turns out the way he wants it. If we achieve half of what happened in Rangasthalam, we will be content. (laughs)
-రాజేష్ గారితో మారేడుమిల్లి నుంచి మా జర్నీ కుదిరింది. ఆయన చాలా మంచి పాషన్ వున్న ప్రొడ్యూసర్. ఆయన చేసిన సినిమాలన్నీ హిట్స్ అవుతున్నాయి. ఈ సినిమాతో కూడా విజయం కొనసాగించాలని కోరుకుంటున్నాను.
-My journey with Rajesh started from Maredumilli. He is a producer with great passion, and all the movies he’s made have been hits. I hope success continues with this movie as well.

-రైటింగ్ జరుగుతుంది. ఈసారి పాన్ ఇండియా వెళ్తున్నాం. కాబట్టి ఇంకాస్త టైం పడుతుంది.
How far has Sudigaadu 2 come along?
-The writing is in progress. This time, we’re going pan-India, so it will take a bit more time.
