Young Producer SKN: "I Focus Only on Strong Scripts That Deliver a Theatrical Experience"

After delivering a blockbuster like Baby under the Mass Movie Makers banner, successful young producer SKN is now backing multiple exciting projects. These include Chennai Love Story with Kiran Abbavaram, the Hindi remake of Baby, and a couple of new films introducing fresh directors.
Speaking ahead of his birthday (July 7), SKN shared insights about his journey and ongoing ventures. “I came from a journalism and PRO background and stepped into production with a passion for content-driven cinema. Director Maruthi inspired me to turn producer with Ee Rojullo, and since then, it’s been an exciting ride,” he said.
He emphasized his belief in strong content, stating that Baby succeeded purely due to its script and emotional connect. “Today’s audience is sharp. No matter how big the production is, if content is missing, the film won’t work. We focus on writing-driven cinema that excites and engages,” he added.
SKN is introducing several new talents, including Telugu actresses, young heroes, and is planning to launch female directors too. His upcoming films include Chennai Love Story, an untitled bilingual with a Kannada star and Telugu actor, and collaborations with Maruthi and Sai Rajesh.
Regarding Raja Saab with Prabhas, he said, “The teaser got a phenomenal response across India. The audience will finally get to see the kind of Prabhas they’ve been waiting for. The film will release theatrically on December 5.”
He also stressed the importance of reasonable ticket pricing and giving films enough time in theaters before OTT release. “High ticket prices and quick OTT drops are hurting theatrical footfalls. Malayalam and Hindi industries are reaping box office benefits by following disciplined release strategies,” he said.
Ending on a grounded note, SKN stated, “I didn’t enter the industry to be a producer—it happened organically. I have no plans to turn director or actor. Allu Arjun has always supported me morally, and that gives me the courage to take creative risks.”
