Vennela Kishore on the Blockbuster Success of #Single

Popular comedian Vennela Kishore expressed joy over the overwhelming response to his character "Aravind" in the summer blockbuster Single. “Playing Aravind in a Geetha Arts film is a lucky break. The audience's response gave me immense happiness,” he shared.

Speaking to the media, Kishore said the script was hilarious from the start, and he enjoyed working with spontaneous actors like Sree Vishnu. “Director Karthik Raju told me I was the only choice for this role. He needed someone to match Vishnu’s improvisation.”

He also likened his role to a "liver piece in biryani" — small, but impactful.

The film, featuring Ketika Sharma and Ivana, produced by Geetha Arts and Kalyan Films, has emerged as a summer blockbuster after its May 9 release.

Kishore stressed the importance of fresh writing in comedy, adding that he tries to bring uniqueness even to regular roles. On his dream roles, he said working in Dookudu alongside Mahesh Babu fulfilled it. He is open to playing a hero again, but only if it's a solid comedy script.

Reacting to comparisons with Brahmanandam, he said, “It’s his affection. That compliment is a huge boost.”
