Shiva Balaji Shares Insights on Kannappa

Actor Shiva Balaji, who plays Kumaradeva Sastry in Vishnu Manchu’s upcoming film Kannappa, recently spoke to the media, revealing fascinating details about his role and the overall experience.
Shiva’s entry into the film happened unexpectedly after a casual chat with Mohan Babu and Vishnu Manchu. Initially not considered for a role, he was later cast as the son of Mohan Babu’s character, Mahadeva Sastry.
He described his role as emotionally layered and significant, rooted in a rigid father-son dynamic. “I mirrored Mohan Babu garu’s intense screen presence to shape my character,” he said.
Talking about the film, Shiva praised its visual grandeur and emotional depth. He highlighted that Kannappa is more than just a movie—it’s a spiritual journey filled with powerful moments.
He confirmed that superstar Prabhas has a 40-minute role that makes a lasting impression, while Akshay Kumar’s portrayal of Lord Shiva stands out for its simplicity and power. Mohanlal’s entry marks a pivotal shift in the narrative.
Shiva, who’s become selective with projects, said he’s open to OTT content and is planning to return with Recce 2. He’s also working on a thriller under Mohan Babu’s banner.
Behind the scenes, he supported the production by arranging food and logistics. Addressing rumors, he clarified that the 7000-acre land in New Zealand was leased, not bought.
He commended director Mukesh Kumar Singh for his calm demeanor and passion, and appreciated Vishnu Manchu’s dedication across all aspects of the film.
Commenting on the industry, Shiva voiced concern over the influence of social media negativity and said the controversial scenes in the film were removed out of respect.
He concluded by saying he’s glad to have accepted the role and is proud to be part of a film that promises to leave a strong impact.
