Ramayana: A Cinematic Epic Reimagined as History

Bollywood is set to bring Ramayana to the big screen like never before. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, this mega-budget film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana.

Titled with the tagline “Our Truth, Our History,” the project aims to depict the Ramayana not as mythology but as historical reality, grounded in ancient texts and brought to life with modern cinematic brilliance.

A three-minute teaser was recently unveiled in major Indian cities and at Times Square, showcasing the film’s scale, intense visuals, and evocative score. The production, with a reported budget of ₹800 crore, features world-class VFX, action choreography by Mad Max: Fury Road’s Guy Norris, and music by A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer.

Planned as a two-part saga, the first installment is set for a Diwali 2026 release. Unlike recent versions, this film is gaining early praise for its authentic and respectful portrayal.
