“KINGDOM” Triumphs with Vijay Deverakonda in the Lead
Vijay Deverakonda’s latest film KINGDOM, directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, is drawing massive attention from all corners—garnering critical acclaim and strong box office success. Released on July 31st under Sitara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, this emotional gangster drama set against the bond between brothers is striking a chord with audiences globally, including unexpected love from Malayalam viewers despite the film not releasing in that language.
The film features stellar performances by Vijay Deverakonda, Sathya Dev, Venkatesh, and Bhagyashree Borse, with music by Anirudh Ravichander. From gripping action to deep emotional layers, KINGDOM is being praised for its unique narrative and powerful visuals.
During a recent media interaction, Vijay expressed heartfelt gratitude for the love from fans, stating the film’s reception feels both joyful and humbling. He added that he feels a stronger sense of responsibility now, and emphasized how proud he is of the storytelling and the teamwork that went into the project.
Vijay revealed how the iconic "voting with weapons" scene was a fresh concept for him and that his intense preparation, both physically and emotionally, played a key role in portraying the character’s transformation. He also shared his excitement for Part 2 of KINGDOM, promising an even more thrilling continuation that explores deeper patriotic and tribal elements.
Vijay said one of the most memorable compliments came from filmmaker Sukumar, who personally called to praise the film. Looking ahead, Vijay is working with director Rahul Sankrityan on a film set in Rayalaseema and will collaborate next with Ravikiran Kola on a project rooted in Andhra culture.
