"In this movie, my character's name is Brutal Dharma, but the things I do will make everyone laugh." — JD Chakravarthy

Gayapadda Simham is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on May 1, 2026. JD expressed his immense delight at having portrayed the character 'Dharma' in this film, noting that the movie promises to be highly entertaining. Furthermore, he mentioned that they—alongside Tarun Bhascker, who brings a unique brand of entertainment to the project, and writer-director Kashyap Srinivas—have successfully captivated audiences in Gayapadda Simham.

This film is presented by Pavan Sadineni, and produced by Kalyana Chakravarthy Mandhina, Bhanu Kiran Pratap, Vijay Krishna Lingamaneni, and Umesh Bansal. Produced under the banners of Saptaswa Media Works,POV Stories, and Zee Studios, this film features Faria Abdullah and Manasa Chaudhary in the lead roles. JD mentioned that he played a pivotal character in the movie. Speaking at a press conference held on this occasion, he shared further details about the film, stating that for any actor, it is incredibly exciting when there is a challenging element within a character's arc. He added that regarding the character 'Dharma,' he had already made a specific observation back when the film's promos were released.

Referring to a point he had mentioned earlier—specifically, that no one else in the world could have portrayed the kinds of characters Kamal Haasan has—JD stated that, in the film *Gayapadda Simham he was fortunate enough to experience a similar distinction, not merely as an actor, but in terms of the impact of the character itself. JD further remarked that throughout his career, he never rushed into projects; he undertook a film only if he genuinely liked the story. He noted that the character he played in the movie *Siva* became so iconic that it effectively replaced his own name;. At the same time, people might not recognise the name "Chakravarthy" on its own, everyone instantly recognises "GD Chakravarthy." He added that had the role not resonated with the audience, the character would not have endured in the public memory. Finally, regarding *Ghayal Sher*, he mentioned that—much like his own character, Bhaskar—another individual in the film had also been "wounded," and he indicated that they would be reviewing this aspect of the story very soon.

Speaking about Director Karshap Srinivas, he noted that while the director possesses prior experience working on short films and web series, what truly appealed to him was the director's unique filmmaking style. Regarding his character in *Gayapadda Simham*—named 'Bluetooth Dharma'—he remarked that the character's actions are sure to elicit laughter from the audience. He added that the director executed the film exactly as he had envisioned it, and that they did not offer any creative inputs of their own. Furthermore, speaking about the technical crew, he praised them as a highly competent team. Addressing the impact of OTT platforms, he observed that for a film to succeed in theatres today, it must possess strong content; he noted that, thanks to the influence of OTT, films featuring high-quality content are now being produced—citing the recently released *Little Hearts* as an example of a film with good content that performed well in theatres. He asserted that if audiences do not like a film, they will not watch it—whether it is released in theatres or on OTT platforms.

He stated that he loves acting and does not concern himself with whether the role is that of a hero or a villain, but rather insists that the story be fresh and original. He urged everyone to watch *Gaayapadda Simham*, which hits theatres on May 1st.
