Satya Dev: In this movie Rao Bahadur, the audience is going to see a new side of Satyadev—one they haven't witnessed before.

The movie 'Rao Bahadur’ is set for a worldwide release on July 3rd. The film Rao Bahadur, starring versatile actor Satya Dev, was directed by acclaimed filmmaker Venkatesh Maha.

Superstar Mahesh Babu and Namrata Shirodkar are presenting this film under GMB Entertainments. Additionally, this film was produced by Chinta Gopalakrishna Reddy, Anurag Reddy, and Sarath Chandra under the banners of A Plus N Movies and Sri Chakra Entertainments.'Rao Bahadur' is set for a worldwide release on July 3rd. On this occasion, Satyadev shared insights about the Rao Bahadur movie during a press meet.

Speaking about the movie Rao Bahadur, it was described as a complete psychological drama and a musical rooted in realism, featuring elements of dark comedy. Satyadev mentioned that while the teaser offered glimpses of horror—such as the visual of roots trailing after someone—this element will be understood much more clearly by the audience when experienced in the theatre.

We were very confident about this film from the start, believing it would offer an experience unlike anything previously seen in Telugu cinema—a sentiment Mahesh Babu echoed after watching it. Filmmakers who have seen the movie also remark that it is unlike any Telugu film they have witnessed before; this confidence stems from having seen the finished product.

Speaking about his character, Satyadev remarked that while hard work is required in all films, he knew that for this particular role, the effort regarding makeup had to be put in beforehand.

Speaking further about the makeup, the actor described the experience as a dream come true, noting that receiving such an opportunity brought great joy. He mentioned that seeing stars like Kamal Haasan, Suriya, and Vikram experiment with heavy-makeup roles had inspired him to make a similar film—a wish that was finally fulfilled with ‘Rao Bahadur’. He stated that there is immense happiness when what we desire comes to us, and emphasised that "mind makeup" is far more important than physical makeup. He mentioned that he used to resolve beforehand to work 16 hours a day, and would go to the shoot happily, truly enjoying the process.

He mentioned that playing such a character requires a great deal of patience, and that portraying this role made them realise they possessed that level of patience; he also noted that applying the makeup took five hours, while removing it took one and a half hours.

Speaking about the character of Ramappa, he mentioned that there were no prior references for it—describing it instead as a 'mad' (eccentric/wild) character—and expressed the belief that, after watching the film, this role would become a benchmark that others would want to emulate. He noted that while working on the movie, the character of Ramappa truly took possession of him.

In this movie, the audience is going to see a new side of Satyadev—one they haven't witnessed before.

Speaking further about the film, Satya Devi explained that the story is set between 1962 and 1999 and revolves around a protagonist who is a wanderer; the plot becomes intriguing when, after his extensive travels, he returns to his palace and encounters a specific incident. Speaking about the film, Satyadev mentioned that there is a song featuring the entire group; while it lacks action sequences, it offers plenty of scope for acting. He noted that, in addition to the songs already released, there are three more—two of which are dance numbers. He added that this is the first time in his career he has danced to this extent, a skill he specifically learned for this movie.

Speaking about the heroine Deepa Thomas, he mentioned that there is a beautiful love story involved and that she performed on par with him; he also added that everyone who acted in the film did justice to their roles.

Speaking about the CG work in the film, he mentioned that Ramji executed it brilliantly and with high quality; Venkatesh Maha created a psychological world that resonated with Ramappa, and the CG played a crucial role in bringing that world to life, resulting in a very realistic outcome.

Speaking further about the movie, Satyadev mentioned that he always asks himself if the audience is eagerly anticipating his films. He noted that although the project involved certain physical challenges, he thoroughly enjoyed the process mentally. He expressed his deep love for cinema, stating that as an actor, he does not view it merely as a job; instead, he finds happiness in the fact that he gets to do what he loves every day.

Mahesh Babu and Namrata watched the movie together; after watching it for about 40 minutes, they discussed the film and gave a positive review.

Mahesh Babu provided the voice-over for the teaser, and Sukumar also watched the film and gave a positive review; he had previously remarked that this is a Telugu film worth watching, noting that one would understand why he said so after seeing the movie. Satyadev expressed great happiness when Mahesh Babu provided the voice-over, stating that the contribution was truly invaluable.

Satyadev expressed confidence that the movie would achieve major success at the box office. He noted that the story has a universal appeal and is easy for everyone to understand, though he could not reveal the plot details just yet. He mentioned that audiences would easily connect with the character and relate to his journey, wondering about the reasons behind his transformation.

He stated that Charan Sai has provided wonderful music and that this film will be a turning point in his career. He also mentioned his upcoming project,

Samarvathi—a film set against a forest action backdrop, a genre he hasn't explored before. Additionally, he noted that he is currently working on a comedy scene and is also playing a 'mass' character in the movie Full Bottle.
