Hyderabad's Skies Come Alive at International Kite and Sweet Festival

The International Kites and Sweets Festival in Hyderabad has brought together participants from 19 countries, showcasing vibrant kites, cultural performances, and inspiring stories of global unity.

The three-day celebration, held from January 13-15, featured a stunning display of cultural unity, blending the spirit of five festivals - Kite Festival, Sweet Festival, Handicrafts, Cultural Fest, and Food Festival.

Participants from around the world, including Poland, Italy, France, Singapore, Australia, and Canada, showcased their kite-flying skills, while over 50 national kite flyers from 22 Indian states added to the excitement.

The festival was a unique opportunity to witness the passion and artistry of international and Indian kite makers coming together to celebrate a shared love of this ancient tradition.

Cultural performances, including Kuchipudi, Bharatanatyam, tribal dances, and Bihu, reflected the vast cultural heritage of India.

Heartwarming stories, such as that of Wiestaw and Swastika, a Polish-Indonesian couple who met at a kite festival in India, added to the festival's magic.

The Awita Team from France, who have been participating in the festival for three years, also shared their love for India's culture, food, and people.

As the colourful kites adorned the skies, they reminded us of the beauty of unity in diversity and the lasting bonds that make festivals so special.
