Greetings to all Telugu cinema audiences and especially to our Brahmin community members.

I am Akella Sivaprasad, a proud Brahmin and the dialogue writer for the upcoming film Kannappa. It’s disheartening to witness false propaganda surrounding the film, especially when there is no attempt whatsoever to disrespect any caste, community, or tradition.
The film is directed by Shri Mukesh Kumar Singh, an acclaimed North Indian Brahmin director known for his exemplary work on mythological series like Mahabharat. Kannappa is deeply rooted in devotion and has been crafted with utmost reverence for our traditions.
Contrary to the misleading rumors, this film treats the character of Mahadev Shastri (played by Shri Mohan Babu) with great respect and spiritual depth, based on Sri Kalahasti Mahatyam written by Dhurjati in the 16th century. Earlier films on Kannappa — Sri Kalahasti Mahatyam and Bhakta Kannappa — also depicted similar themes involving temple priests.
Importantly, after the film’s completion, it was screened for the chief priests of the sacred Sri Kalahasti Temple. They appreciated the film’s devotional integrity and blessed Shri Mohan Babu and Shri Vishnu Manchu with Vedic honors.
Many members of the Brahmin community, including the renowned lyricist Shri Ramajogayya Sastry, contributed to this project. It is unreasonable to assume that anyone would invest immense resources and effort into a film with the intent to hurt any community.
Before forming opinions, we humbly request everyone to watch the film. Let Lord Shiva judge those spreading false narratives.
