“Dear Uma” Releasing on April 18 – A Personal & Powerful Story, Says Sumaya Reddy

Actress Sumaya Reddy makes her debut as producer, writer, and lead actress with “Dear Uma”, hitting screens on April 18. Co-starring Prithvi Amber, the film is directed by Sai Rajesh Mahadev, with visuals by acclaimed DOP Raj Thota and music by renowned composer Radhan.

Inspired by a recurring dream during the pandemic,”Dear Uma” is a deeply personal tale blending fiction and reality. Sumaya describes the film as a reflection on flaws within corporate medical systems—not to criticize, but to raise awareness and offer solutions.
Sumaya shared that producing was far more challenging than acting, especially with the scale and quality the team aspired to. “We’ve poured our hearts into this,” she said, crediting the passion and experience of the entire team—including Nagesh (line producer), Nithin Reddy (executive producer), and a host of industry veterans.
“Dear Uma” promises a thought-provoking, emotional journey that aims to spark awareness and empathy.
