Banking operations across the country will be disrupted on Tuesday as bank employees participate in a strike on January 27th, called by the bank unions. The employees are striking to demand a five-day work week. The United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU), a joint platform of nine unions representing bank officers and staff, called for the strike after talks with the Chief Labour Commissioner on January 23rd failed.
