TV anchor turned actor Pradeep Machiraju's most awaited movie 'Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi' is a unique love and family entertainer directed by the talented young directors duo Nithin and Bharat. Produced by the Manks & Monkeys banner, the movie features Deepika Pilli as the female lead. The teaser, trailer, and songs have already received great responses. The film is set to release as one of the biggest attractions this summer on April 11th. On this occasion, directors Nithin and Bharat shared the details of the movie at a press meet.
How did the movie journey begin?
- We have done different shows on television, and we got introduced to Pradeep Garu. For his first film, there was a promotional song shoot towards the end. That seemed very exciting to us. We share many creative ideas with Pradeep Garu. One time, we shared this idea, and he liked it. Then we developed a bound script and narrated it to him, and he liked it. That's how the movie started.
"Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi" - Isn't this a title by Pawan Kalyan? How justified is it for this movie?
- We chose this title because it fits the movie. It’s a title by Pawan Kalyan Garu. It definitely helps in terms of publicity. However, we chose it because it fits well with the film’s concept.
How has the journey from TV to movies been?
- It's been a beautiful journey. Television is different, and movies are different. There's a huge difference between fiction and non-fiction. We haven't worked as assistant directors in fiction. In non-fiction, judgment comes easily, but movies are different. Each scene, each time, and each situation has to be shot separately. The reactions to it aren't clear until the movie releases. However, we had a great team. Our DOP Ball Reddy Garu and music composer Radhan did fantastic work. They supported us a lot, and we made the movie beautifully with great teamwork.
You used to do skits a lot. Did you take anything from them for this film?
- Every skit is a story, but a movie is a bigger story. The comedy here is also very situational. It’s very organic. The film mostly has situational comedy and is a romantic entertainer.
- Brahmanandam Garu, Satyaraj Garu’s characters are organically woven into the story. The audience will definitely enjoy those roles.
About the heroine Deepika Pilli’s character?
- We wanted to cast a Telugu girl for this character. We auditioned accordingly, and she fit perfectly for the role. Her character is very interesting.
Did you show the movie to Maitri Movie Makers before releasing?
- Maitri Movie Makers watched the film and really liked it. They felt there was a lot of potential in the movie. They decided the release date themselves as they believed it was a perfect summer release. They were our first audience, and after seeing their reaction, we were very happy.
- This is a movie the whole family can enjoy together this summer. It will definitely entertain everyone.

- Pradeep Garu’s friends came together for the film. We received a lot of support from the producers. They gave us everything we asked for.
About Radhan’s music?
- Radhan gave beautiful music for the film. There are some great dance numbers. Pradeep Garu performed wonderfully, and we presented him in a different light. Radhan Garu gave music that resonates with the soul of the movie. The music connects very personally with the story. Also, there was a great response to Shekhar Master Garu’s choreography.
Are the directors working on their next projects?
- We have some concepts in mind. After the release, we will think about them.
