Shanil Deo makes his directorial debut with this film. Mrunal Thakur is paired opposite Adivi Sesh in the movie, while Anurag Kashyap plays a pivotal role. Presented by Annapurna Studios, the film is produced by Supriya Yarlagadda; Sunil Narang served as the co-producer alongside Supriya.

Speaking about the movie Dacoit, Adivi Sesh mentioned that since the film is being released in Hindi alongside Telugu, it has garnered a far greater response in the Hindi market than they had anticipated; he added that people are now even inquiring whether *Dacoit will be released in Bhojpuri as well. Speaking about Director Shanil, he remarked that the manner in which he narrated the story was truly unique, and the emotional interplay involving love, betrayal, and survival comes across as incredibly powerful. Regarding the film's heroine, Mrunal, he praised her performance, stating that she delivered a magnificent portrayal in both her roles as Juliet and as a mother.

Anurag Kashyap appears in the role of a police officer. He stated that Prakash's acting lent strength to the story.

Speaking about himself, Adivi Sesh stated: "My philosophy isn't about how many films we've done, but rather how many good films we've done. This movie contains many significant themes, though they aren't explicitly spelt out.

The central theme of this film revolves around what a person seeks to reclaim when their heart is shattered. It is a movie crafted entirely around human emotions and sentiments. Director Shanil Deo brings a distinct "Bhojpuri flavour" to the project—a creative choice that explains why he brought Pawan Singh on board. The film's music is unique and excellent; in fact, the songs have already gone viral across social media platforms. Speaking about the movie, Adivi described it as a "universal film" that is being released at just the right time. Reflecting on his dancing, he recalled that during his childhood, he was discouraged from dancing with the remark, "You are too tall; you shouldn't dance." Consequently, he harboured a fear of dancing ever since. However, he noted that the dance sequences in this film felt organic and natural, turning out exceptionally well. He urged everyone to watch and support Dacoit, which is scheduled for release on April 10th.
