The Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce has declared February 6 as Telugu Cinema's birthday, marking the beginning of an annual celebration to honor its rich legacy .

This decision was made to recognize the significance of Telugu cinema, which has become a global phenomenon.
To commemorate this occasion, the Chamber has decided to present awards in various categories, in addition to the government awards. A special flag will be designed by senior writer Parichuri Gopalakrishna and will be displayed at the homes and theaters of Telugu cinema actors on their birthdays.
Chamber President Damodar Prasad emphasized the importance of celebrating Telugu Cinema Day, stating that cinema is like a mother to everyone in the industry ¹. Secretary Prasanna Kumar highlighted the historical significance of February 6, marking the release of the first talkie film, Bhakta Prahlada, and the earlier film Kalidasu, which featured Telugu dialogues and songs .
The event was attended by prominent figures in the Telugu film industry, including Murali Mohan, Madala Ravi, and Veera Shankar, who expressed their support for the celebration and recognized the contributions of Telugu cinema to the global film industry .
